"1000 SCHOOLS IN VOCATIONAL EDUCATION PROJECT" MADE 157 MILLION TL CONTRIBUTION TO THE ECONOMY

Production activities carried out in 438 schools in 2020 within the framework of "1000 Schools in Vocational Education Project" designed to reduce success differences between schools and reinforce vocational education increased by 42 percent and reached 157 million liras.

The Ministry of National Education continues to take firm steps in the 1000 Schools in the Vocational Education Project. The Ministry made 161 million liras investment to selected schools in order to reinforce their infrastructure.
 
Among the goals of the project was the increase in the production activities as a part of circulating capital and increase the share of students and teachers from this capital. 438 out of selected 1000 schools have circulating capital enterprise license. Production activities carried out in 438 schools in 2020 within the framework of "1000 Schools in Vocational Education Project" designed to reduce success differences between schools and reinforce vocational education increased by 42 percent when compared to 2019 and reached 157 million liras. The Ministry aims at giving circulating capital enterprise license in all 1000 schools during 2021.
 
"Production activities of schools increased by 42 percent"
Deputy Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer stated that the Ministry initiated "1000 Schools in Vocational Education" project in order to increase the quality of education in vocational and technical schools and decrease success differences between schools.
 
Underlining that the project has a wide coverage including school administrators, teachers, students, parents and school environment, Özer said, "We are taking steps concerning each and every component of the project. We defined the duration of project as 12 months. Our activities concerning the project continue as planned. One of the goals of the project was the establishment of circulating capital enterprises at the schools and increase product activities and applied training capacities. Moreover, we also aimed at increasing our support to teachers and students. In 2020, only 438 out of selected 1000 schools had circulating capital enterprise license. These schools increased their production activities by 42 percent during the first 11 months of 2020. We will establish circulating capital enterprises in the remaining 562 schools in 2021 and found two new workshops in every school."
