ANATOLIAN FAIRY TALES AND DEDE KORKUT STORIES MEET THE CHILDREN

Minister of National Education Ziya Selçuk attended the launch of the "Anatolian Fairy Tales Project" which aims at introducing Dede Korkut and Anatolian fairy tales to children. Minister Selçuk defined the project as an important work that will allow teachers to reflect the thousands years old voice of Anatolia to the ears and hearts of teachers.

Directorate General for Teacher Training and Improvement has completed preparations of the Anatolian Fairy Tales project aiming at introducing Dede Korkut and Anatolian fairy tales to children.
 
The Project was launched as a part of the Heritage Culture Atlas Anatolian Fairy Tales and Dede Korkut Tales Promotion Program with the participation of Minister of National Education Ziya Selçuk and teachers.
 
Minister Selçuk said, "The Anatolian Fairy Tales and Dede Korkut Tales provide the opportunity to unite us under the umbrella of an ideal that connects us and salutes the same horizon. Due to this reason, we have to emphasize the magic of the word of "fairy tale". 220 thousand teachers received fairy tale telling certificates. This is an important work that will allow teachers to reflect the thousands years old voice of Anatolia to the ears and hearts of teachers."
 
Minister Selçuk thanked those who worked with sacrifice and dedication in order to prepare this project.
 
Selçuk went on to say: "We opened a YouTube channel, established books, organized training programs for teachers, and established a certification system as a part of this project. We are aiming at reaching out to our children, developing a common language on this soil, improving existing language and brining richness to the dreams and worlds of children. I am aware that this project forms an added value at the international level."
 
Details of the Project
220 thousand teaches who attended "Fairy Tale Telling" professional improvement program till now as a part of the project prepared by the Directorate General for Teacher Training and Improvement, received certificates.
 
The Ministry has prepared the Anatolian Fairy Tales Education Set including 15 fairy tale books, game cards, 2 CDs of songs and fairy tales and finger puppets for preschool and primary school students and teachers.
 
Meanwhile, "Dede Korkut Tales Education Set" is also distributed to the schools and provincial districts of national education.
 
The Ministry established Anatolian Fairy Tale coordination office in every city which will organize online fairy tale telling activities.
