FIRST REPORT CONCERNING THE IMPLEMENTATION OF ADVISORY DECISIONS OF THE 20TH NATIONAL EDUCATION COUNCIL PUBLISHED

The Ministry of National Education published its first report about the adaptation of education policies to the advisory decisions taken during the 20th National Education Council. The result of the report showed that the Ministry took steps in an effort to implement the advisory decisions in the last six months and it has taken at least one step regarding 57 different advisory decisions of the Council. The 20th National Education Council was held between March 1 and 3 2021 after seven years at the Presidential Complex with the participation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Different stakeholders of education such as students, teachers, parents, education researchers, nongovernmental organizations and academicians expressed their views during the 3 day council sessions.
 
Themes of the council were Equal Opportunity in Basic Education, Improvement of Vocational Education and Professional Improvement of Teachers. Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer chaired the General Assembly and 128 advisory decisions were accepted at the end of the Council.
 
Steps taken by the Ministry is in harmony with the advisory decisions
Every step taken by the Ministry is observed and commented in line with the advisory decisions in the report. First section of the report includes a detailed explanation about these steps and the final chapter of the report includes summary diagrams. Results of the report revealed that steps taken by the Ministry in the last six months are in harmony with the advisory decisions. It was reported that the Ministry has taken at least one step on 57 different advisory decisions of the Council.
 
Advisory decisions and policies are in full harmony
The report also showed that advisory decisions of the council were considered in the Ministry's new policies about equal opportunity in basic education, professional improvement of teachers and reinforcement of vocational education.  It was stated that advisory decisions and policies of the Ministry are in full harmony
 
Major adaptation observed in the equal opportunity in basic education
Dissemination of preschool education and large scale projects concerning decreasing opportunity differences among schools carried out by the Ministry in the last six months were key subjects in the adaptation.
 
First report concerning adaptation of education policies in line with the decision of the council
"Decisions of the council are advisory. The 20th National Education Council largely participated and almost all decisions were made by a large majority. It is important for us to implement the decisions of the council which we accept as a part of prior education policies. I previously announced that we will share how we adapt education policies in line with the decision of the council with the public. This is the first report," said Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer.
