SECOND PHASE OF 500.000 TABLET COMPUTER DISTRIBUTION

The Ministry of National Education continues to deliver and distribute tablets for students who need internet and devices during the distance education as a part of the social responsibility project. The Ministry sent 50 thousand and 500 tablets to 15 cities at the beginning of this week. Minister of National Education Ziya Selçuk had a video conference meeting with the provincial directors of education of 15 cities to provide information about the distribution process of the tablets. Selçuk stated that the Ministry will deliver all of then500 thousand tablets to students until the end of January and distribution and support activities will continue with the contribution of local administrations and the private sector.

The Ministry of National Education continues to deliver and distribute 500 thousand tablets for students who need internet and devices during the distance education as a part of the social responsibility project. After undertaking the required controls, tablets are promptly delivered to cities for distribution. On December 15, 500 thousand and 500 tablets were sent to 15 cities and related provincial directorates of education started distributing them to students on December 17.
 
2.300 tablets were sent to Adıyaman, 2600 tablets were sent to Batman, 3000 tablets were sent to Diyarbakır, 3000 tablets were sent to Gaziantep, 850 tablets were sent to Hakkari, 5000 tablets were sent to İstanbul, 2000 tablets were sent to Kayseri, 500 tablets were sent to Kilis, 8000 tablets were sent to Kocaeli, 3000 tablets were sent to Mardin, 1350 tablets were sent to Ankara, 1000 tablets were sent to Siirt, 10700 tablets were sent to Şanlıurfa, 2600 tablets were sent to Şırnak and 4600 tablets were sent to Van.
 
Minister of National Education Ziya Selçuk had a video conference meeting with the provincial directors of education of 15 cities in order to provide them with information about the distribution process of the tablets. Provincial Directors told Minister Selçuk that tablets will be distributed to students as soon as possible by district directorates and school administrations within the framework of the planned tablet distribution strategy.
 
Minister Selçuk received information about other activities concerning distance education from provincial directors. Directors said that they continue to respond the needs of students who do not have EBA TV access.
 
Noting that tablets which will be distributed to students will include 4.5 GMS sim cards, Minister Selçuk said, "In addition to support provided by local administrations, private sector companies and civil initiatives for students who have difficulties in using EBA portal and attending live classes due to lack of computers and internet, we will complete the distribution of 5000 tablets until the end of January. Tablets will include internet packages in an effort to allow students to benefit from live classes and EBA platform. Of course, our support will not be limited with this distribution. Support of local administrations, private sector companies and civil initiatives will continue.
 
Meanwhile, distance education process continues. In addition to tablet distribution, students can use EBA support points. Minister Selçuk said that the Ministry has set a distribution strategy based on the criteria such as income of the family, number of siblings, need for special education and academic success of students. Next distribution is set for December 21.
