FIRST CALIBRATION CENTER IN VOCATIONAL EDUCATION FOR MEDICAL DEVICE MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR FOUNDED IN HATAY

Required investments were made, teachers attended training programs and the certification process was completed.
 
As a part of the education and cooperation protocol signed between the Hatay Provincial Directorate of National Education and Provincial Health Directorate, Hatay Biomedical Device Calibration Center started calibrating devices of the Family Health Center.
 
Deputy Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer stated that the Ministry has provided all kinds of support in an effort to strengthen vocational education in Hatay adding that, "Our colleagues in Hatay are working very hard. Our cooperation activities with the private sector gradually increased in every city of the country.  Number of students enrolled in vocational education institutions increased accordingly."
 
Stressing that the Ministry eliminated infrastructure and workshop deficits in the schools, Özer said, "Amount of production in Hatay increased immensely. Income of vocational education institutions located in Hatay which was 4.9 million liras in 2017 increased to 18.6 million in 2020 despite the pandemic. In other words, production capacity of vocational education in Hayat increased by four fold"  
 
Turkey's first ventilator and N95 masks were produced in Hatay
Özer recalled that the production capacity of vocational education was used during the Covid-19 in order to respond to the needs of the society adding that, "Vocational education institutions especially located in Hatay displayed a great performance. Almost all required products varying from masks to disinfectants and from face shields to disposable overalls and aprons were produced in Hatay. There were firsts during the period. First ventilator and N96 masks were produced in Hatay. These are all very important success stories."
 
Pointing out that the Ministry started to establish perfection centers on certain fields in an effort to increase the quality of service in vocational education, Özer stated that Turkey's first biomedical calibration center was founded in Hatay Şehit Serkan Talan Vocational and Technical Anatolia High School which was selected as the R&D center.
 
Özer went on to say: "The center is providing a good service to the region. It has taken its first steps. I believe that increasing the capacity of our calibration center will not only contribute to Hatay but to the entire region. I would like to thank Provincial Director of National Education Kemal Karahan and his colleagues for their success in coordinating the process. I also would like to congratulate administrators and teachers of the Hatay Şehit Serkan Talan Vocational and Technical Anatolia High School."
