JOINT MANAGEMENT PLAN WITH THE MINISTRY OF CULTURE AND TOURISM IN FINE ARTS HIGH SCHOOLS

The Ministry of National Education and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism signed a protocol concerning the Joint Management Model of Fine Arts High Schools.

Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer said during the protocol ceremony that both ministries have jointly taken important steps in many fields and experience of ministries helped them to reinforce tourism and culture education.
 
Minister Özer reminded them that they have cooperated with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism in updating the curriculum of tourism high schools and providing real business environment experience for students. The Ministry of Tourism and Culture has been assigning tourism professionals to give lectures and classes at tourism high schools.
 
Both ministries also cooperated as a part of "No More Schools Without Libraries Project" which was initiated under the auspices of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's spouse Emine Erdoğan on October 26, 2021.
 
Özer reminded that the number of books in school libraries which was 28 million before the project reached 60 million today adding that they are aiming at increasing this number to 100 million until the end of 2022.
 
New era in 95 Fine Arts High Schools located in 76 cities
Minister Özer stated his Ministry recently decided to cooperate with the Ministry of Tourism and Culture about 95 Fine Arts High Schools located in 76 cities.
 
"The new management model of these schools includes joint management, curriculum update, encouraging students and teachers to participate in national and international organizations organized by the Ministry of Tourism and Culture," said Özer.
 
Two good news for Fine Arts High Schools  
Minister Özer stated that there will be at least one fine arts high school in every 81 cities of the country within a short period of time.
 
"Till now, Fine Arts High Schools were providing painting and music education. We have decided to open a performing arts department in these schools. This is our second good news," added Özer.
 
"We are taking steps in an effort to increase the quality of education"
Meanwhile, Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy noted that Fine Arts High Schools brought a new excitement and fresh breath to the education and culture life of the country adding that graduates of these schools will make an important contribution to the culture and arts scene of Türkiye.
 
Stating that his Ministry signed a protocol with the Ministry of National Education for better cultural and artistic infrastructure in the country and provide education in world standards, Ersoy said, "We have taken steps in an effort to increase the quality of education in this field such as assigning successful professional as teachers, giving academic support and responding technical requirements."
 
Mehmet Nuri Ersoy noted that the Fine Arts High Schools will become important centers that will educate the future artists and performers of the country.
